Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Nicknamed "the Will" by his friends, Will Byers is the initial catalyst for the Hawkins mysteries after his sudden disappearance in theUpside Down in the first season. Deeply scarred and haunted by his persistent psychic link with the MindFlayer, he struggles to return to a normal life. In the fourth season, six months after the terrible battle of Starcourt, Will tries to make a fresh start by moving to Lenora Hills, California, with his mother Joyce, his brother Jonathan and Eleven. Despite the geographical distance that initially separates the group of friends, his unique sensibility and residual connection to the occult remain a major asset in understanding and anticipating the destructive plans of the new threat embodied by Vecna.
