Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network, the Steven Universe series features Earth's magical protectors. Sunstone is an entity born of the physical, mental and magical fusion between the protagonist Steven Universe and the Garnet Gem. Appearing in the special episode "Change Your Mind", this character is characterised by a personality modelled on the educational mascots of the 1980s and 1990s, regularly breaking the fourth wall to give safety advice to viewers. Endowed with colossal physical strength inherited from her components, Sunstone uses magic suction cups attached to her hands in combat to scale surfaces or lift heavy loads.
