Celebrate the festive season in galactic style with this men’s Christmas jumper dedicated to R2-D2. Manufactured by Cotton Division under an official Star Wars licence, this design combines the instantly recognisable look of the famous astromech droid with traditional winter jumper motifs.
The front of the jumper features R2-D2 wearing a Christmas hat, in a design dominated by blue, black and white. The design features snowflakes, droid silhouettes, Rebel Alliance emblems and geometric patterns, whilst the Star Wars logo appears at the bottom. The collar, cuffs and waist are highlighted by black ribbed trim.
R2-D2 is a particularly versatile astromech droid who appears across several generations of the Star Wars saga. He serves Padmé Amidala, Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker in turn, taking part in numerous major missions for the Republic, the Rebel Alliance and later the Resistance. He regularly distinguishes himself through his ability to repair ships, operate computer systems and rescue his companions from perilous situations.
His story begins notably during the Naboo Crisis, when he helps to repair Queen Amidala’s royal ship whilst under enemy fire. During the Clone Wars, he went on to become Anakin Skywalker’s loyal companion before playing a decisive role in the fight against the Empire, notably by transporting the Death Star plans entrusted to him by Princess Leia.
R2-D2 is also inseparable from C-3PO, with whom he shares a long-standing friendship characterised by cooperation and bickering. His courage, ingenuity and distinctive blue-and-white design have made him one of the saga’s most iconic characters, here reimagined in a design specially created for the Christmas season.
