Origin and background of the character
Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix, Squid Game is a Korean dystopian drama series that has become a historic global cultural phenomenon. The plot centres on 456 heavily indebted people who agree to compete in a series of traditional children’s games in order to win a colossal cash prize, only to discover too late that each elimination amounts to an immediate execution. Dressed in the famous green and white tracksuit mandated by the mysterious masked guards, Player 149, Geum-Ja, embodies the despair, psychological tension and savage struggle for survival at the heart of this minimalist arena. This Funko Pop! figurine faithfully captures the series’ minimalist and striking aesthetic, establishing itself as a must-have piece to complete the collection of fans of psychological thrillers and major television productions.
