Origin and character background (Lore)
Patrick Star is one of the main characters in SpongeBob SquarePants. This pink starfish lives under a rock in Bikini Bottom, right next to the house of his best friend, SpongeBob SquarePants.
Patrick is known for his laid-back nature, his great naivety and his often absurd reasoning. Despite his frequent lack of common sense, he accompanies SpongeBob on many of his adventures and is one of the series’ most important comic characters.
His green shorts adorned with purple flowers and his very simple silhouette are among the most recognisable visual elements in the SpongeBob universe.
Throughout the series, Patrick alternates between moments of total carefreeness, far-fetched ideas and displays of sincere loyalty towards Bob, which has helped him become one of the franchise’s most popular characters.
