Origin and character background
Directly inspired by one of the most high-octane and iconic sketches in American television pop culture, this figurine celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the famous satirical programme Saturday Night Live. It features Matt Foley, the dysfunctional and ultra-energetic motivational speaker famously portrayed by the late comedian Chris Farley. Hired by desperate parents to set their teenagers straight, this unstable man—a master of frenzied gesticulation and destructive tumbles through furniture—shouts to anyone who’ll listen that he lives alone ‘in a van by the river’.
This Funko Pop! figure captures his unforgettable, larger-than-life appearance with remarkable graphic fidelity, characterised by his unbuttoned green and white checked jacket, his trousers pulled up too high, his tight-fitting glasses and his typical aggressive posture during his memorable rants. An absolutely exceptional choice to complete your collection of American comedy icons and add character to your display space.
