Origin and backstory of the character
The Entity (or the Smiling Demon) is the main antagonist in the famous psychological horror film series *Smile*, written and directed by Parker Finn. This ancient, invisible creature is a parasitic entity that feeds exclusively on the psychological trauma of its prey. It passes its curse from victim to victim through a macabre cycle: it drives the possessed person to commit an extremely violent suicide in front of a witness, who then becomes the new host.
