Origin and character background
Kuromi is the self-proclaimed rival of My Melody, hailing from the extended universe of the Japanese brand Sanrio and made famous by the animated series Onegai My Melody. Although she sports a punk style and a feisty personality, she hides a very sensitive nature and a penchant for romantic stories. In all her adventures and mischief, she is accompanied by Baku, a flying purple tapir capable of sucking up people’s nightmares. Despite the fact that Kuromi is sometimes hard on him, Baku shows unwavering loyalty and the patience of a saint towards his leader, whom he regularly carries on his back. This figurine celebrates their wonderful bond through a tender and amusing cosplay, perfectly capturing the ideal combination of Kuromi’s rebellious aesthetic and her best friend’s cuteness.
