Origin and background of the character
Released in 1955 and directed by Nicholas Ray, *Rebel Without a Cause* is a dramatic masterpiece that has left a profound mark on the history of American cinema. Jim Stark, played by the legendary and much-missed James Dean, is a troubled, sensitive and disillusioned teenager who has just moved to a new town. Desperately seeking to escape a stifling family environment and find meaning in his life, he quickly finds himself caught up in the gang rivalries and romantic entanglements of 1950s youth. Wearing his iconic red jacket, the character has become the timeless symbol of teenage rebellion and intergenerational misunderstanding. This Pop! figurine captures the iconic, melancholic look of this tragic anti-hero with remarkable accuracy, making it a must-have retro piece for all film buffs and dedicated pop culture collectors.
