Origin and character lore
Conceived by filmmaker Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick in 1993,The Nightmare Before Christmas is an absolute masterpiece of stop-motion animation. The story follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, who has grown weary of the annual routine of screams and frights. After stumbling upon the festive town of Christmas Town, he decides to bring this joyful celebration home, leading to a series of macabre yet poetic misunderstandings.
This unique ‘Patchwork’ artistic version reimagines the slender silhouette of the skeletal scarecrow. The design of his outfit draws direct inspiration from the stitched and patched-up structure of his beloved friend Sally, the rag doll. By combining stitching lines with alternating colourful geometric patterns, this keyring celebrates the graphic creativity, Gothic poetry and timeless charm of this great Christmas animation classic.
