Based on One Piece, this Banpresto figurine depicts Portgas D. Ace during the Marineford arc, one of the series’ major storylines. Part of the MAXIMATIC PLUS collection, this figure stands approximately 20 cm tall and depicts the commander of the Second Division of the Whitebeard Pirates in a combat pose surrounded by flames.
Ace is depicted bare-chested, with his black hair, red bead necklace and black shorts held up by a brown belt. His outfit also features the blue pouch attached to the side of his leg. The figure adopts a low, aggressive stance, with his legs spread wide and his arms drawn in front of his body, giving the impression that Ace is about to use his power.
Several translucent orange and yellow flame effects accompany the composition: they appear behind his shoulder, around one of his hands, at waist level and near his legs. These elements directly embody the powers of the Mera Mera no Mi and also serve to enhance the sculpture’s overall sense of movement.

Portgas D. Ace, nicknamed ‘Ace the Flaming Fist’, is the commander of the Second Division of the Whitebeard Pirates. As the user of the Mera Mera no Mi, he can create, control and transform his body into fire. His bounty stands at 550 million berrys. He is also the sworn brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Sabo, with whom he shared a cup of sake during their childhood.
Ace is in fact the son of Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King, and Portgas D. Rouge. After joining Whitebeard’s crew and finding a true family amongst them, he set out in pursuit of Marshall D. Teach / Blackbeard following the murder of Thatch. Defeated by Teach, Ace was handed over to the World Government, which decided to carry out his public execution at Marineford.
This decision sparked the War at the Summit, pitting Whitebeard’s crew and their allies against the Marine forces and the Grand Pirates. Luffy finally managed to reach Ace and free him from the scaffold. Their escape is, however, cut short by Admiral Sakazuki / Akainu: Ace steps in to protect Luffy and is struck by a fatal blow. He dies after expressing his gratitude to those who loved him and accepted him as a member of their family.
This MAXIMATIC PLUS – Marineford figurine specifically captures Ace’s warrior side: freed from his chains, surrounded by flames and ready for battle, just before the tragic conclusion of one of One Piece’s most significant story arcs.
