See Nami and Tony Tony Chopper together in an impressive POP! Rides Deluxe No. 153 figure produced by Funko. This piece depicts the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates perched on Chopper’s back in his transformed ‘Walk Point’ form. The set stands approximately 15.2 cm tall, making it significantly larger than a standard POP! figure.
Chopper takes the form of a massive four-legged reindeer, complete with antlers, his characteristic blue snout and distinctive equipment, whilst Nami sits on his back like a rider. This design allows both crew members to be depicted in a single piece, whilst making the most of the larger scale of the POP! Rides Deluxe range.
Nami, nicknamed the ‘Thieving Cat’, is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates. Originally from the village of Cocoyashi, she has possessed a remarkable talent for cartography and reading weather conditions since childhood. Her dream is to sail the seas in order to create a complete map of the world. Her navigational skills are indispensable to the crew, particularly on the Grand Line where weather conditions can change abruptly.
In battle, Nami also utilises her meteorological knowledge through her Clima-Tact, a weapon capable of producing various atmospheric phenomena. Her practical nature, her negotiating skills and her keen interest in money regularly contrast with the much more impulsive behaviour of some of her companions.
Tony Tony Chopper, meanwhile, is the crew’s ship’s doctor. Originally just a reindeer, he ate the Hito Hito no Mi, a Devil Fruit that gave him human characteristics and the ability to take on different forms. Trained in medicine by Dr Hiluluk and later Dr Kureha, he dreams of becoming a doctor capable of curing all illnesses.
Chopper’s powers allow him to alter his body according to the needs of the moment. His various transformations prioritise, in turn, mobility, strength, defence or other physical abilities, making him not only the group’s doctor but also a true fighter. The official One Piece website highlights that, after two years of training, Chopper has become capable of controlling several of these transformations without having to rely on his Rumble Balls all the time.
This POP! Ride Deluxe figure specifically highlights this ability by depicting Nami perched on top of Chopper in his Walk Point form. Funko thus transforms their relationship as crewmates into a unique composition where the navigator takes the reins whilst the reindeer doctor provides the power and mobility.
