Based on the Egghead arc from One Piece, this Banpresto figurine depicts Emet, the mysterious Iron Giant discovered on Dr Vegapunk’s futuristic island. Part of the Mega World Collectable Figure (Mega WCF) range, it stands approximately 15 cm tall. Despite the usually compact size of the World Collectable Figures, this ‘Mega’ version captures the robot’s massive stature whilst remaining consistent with the other characters in the collection.
The sculpture captures his instantly recognisable silhouette: a rounded, massive metallic body; a head protected by a helmet featuring large asymmetrical horns; and a vertical front panel reminiscent of a helmet visor. Its yellow eyes are visible through the dark opening in the helmet, whilst two red bands encircle its torso. The arms consist of visually articulated mechanical segments and end in imposing cylindrical gauntlets.
The back of the figurine also reveals several ducts and mechanical components, notably large cylindrical parts arranged around the back and shoulders. The paintwork combines various shades of grey, metallic purple and red, with a deliberately weathered finish that reinforces the appearance of an old machine brought back into service. The pose, with clenched fists and one leg slightly forward, gives the impression that Emet has just started moving.

Emet, long referred to simply as the Iron Giant, is a massive ancient robot housed on Egghead. The character’s official profile states that he was found in the scrapyard of the island’s industrial zone and is said to have attacked Mary Geoise around 200 years ago. The World Government had ordered his complete destruction, but scientists, fascinated by his technology, secretly chose to preserve him.
Its origins, however, are far more ancient. Revelations from the Egghead arc indicate that Emet was built around 900 years ago, during the Forgotten Century, using technology whose underlying principles still surpass contemporary scientific capabilities. After lying dormant for centuries, it awakens when it hears the rhythm of the ‘Drums of Liberation’ produced by Luffy in Gear 5.
This awakening also reveals his direct connection to Joy Boy, a figure who lived during the Forgotten Century. Emet recognises the rhythm associated with Joy Boy and, when he meets Luffy, initially seems to mistake him for his former companion. The episodes leading up to the conclusion of the Egghead arc gradually reveal that the robot possesses memories, a consciousness of his own and a deep attachment to Joy Boy.
During the final battle on Egghead, Emet intervenes to protect Luffy and his allies from the Five Elders. His role proves decisive when he unleashes a vast amount of King’s Haki previously sealed within his body by Joy Boy, repelling the enemies and ultimately enabling the Straw Hat crew to leave the island.
This Mega WCF figurine therefore represents much more than just a robot from the Egghead arc: Emet is one of the most direct links between the present day in One Piece, Joy Boy and the events of the Forgotten Century, making his appearance a key part of the revelations surrounding the world’s ancient history.
