Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo’s iconic characters. He first appeared in the arcade game Donkey Kong, a title that also marked the debut of Mario, then known as Jumpman. The character went on to become the hero of a major series of platform games.
In his modern incarnation, Donkey Kong is portrayed as the king of the jungle. Recognisable by his famous red tie bearing the initials ‘DK’, he possesses exceptional strength that allows him, amongst other things, to hurl gigantic barrels or make the ground shake by striking it.
