NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS - Sally - Figural Bank

The Nightmare Before Christmas Piggy Bank — Sally

Entrust your savings to Sally with this decorative money box, manufactured by Monogram under licence from Disney and inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The character is depicted in a deliberately stylised manner, with an oversized head that highlights her pale blue complexion, large white eyes and the numerous visible stitches on her face. Her long red hair frames her silhouette completely, whilst her slight smile echoes the gentle, dreamy expression she is known for.

Sally is wearing her famous dress, pieced together from colourful fabric scraps. The yellow, pink, turquoise and black panels are decorated with various patterns and joined by visible seams. She holds a small purple flower in her hands, in a calm pose that contrasts with the eerie atmosphere of Halloween Town.

The piggy bank rests on a textured blue-grey base and stands in front of an angular gravestone. This design combines the practical function of a piggy bank with the appearance of a decorative figurine that can be displayed on a shelf, a desk or as part of a collection dedicated to the film.

Origin and background of the character

Sally is a rag doll created by Dr Finkelstein and held captive in his laboratory. Resourceful and determined, she seeks to gain her independence and regularly uses her knowledge of plants to evade her creator’s watchful eye. Disney presents her as a heroine from Halloween Town who learns to follow her own dreams.

Endowed with intuition and premonitory visions, Sally quickly realises that Jack Skellington’s plan to take charge of Christmas risks ending in disaster. She tries to warn him and plays a vital role in repairing the consequences of this adventure.

This piggy bank captures her key distinguishing features — her stitched skin, her red hair and her dress made from mismatched fabrics — in a compact and expressive design that remains true to the film’s gothic and poetic aesthetic.
