Player’s background and career (Lore)
Alexander Isak is a Swedish international striker born on 21 September 1999 in the Stockholm area. He came through the ranks at AIK, where he made his professional debut at just 16 years of age and quickly made a name for himself thanks to his technical ability, mobility and clinical finishing.
In January 2017, he joined Borussia Dortmund. Following a loan spell at Willem II in the Netherlands, he continued his career in Spain with Real Sociedad from 2019. He scored 44 goals in 132 appearances and played a key part in the club’s success in the 2019–2020 Copa del Rey.
Isak joined Newcastle United in the summer of 2022 and quickly became one of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers. In three seasons with the Magpies, he scored 62 goals in 109 matches across all competitions, including 54 goals in 86 Premier League matches.
His 2024–2025 season was particularly prolific, with 23 league goals. He finished second in the Premier League scoring charts behind Mohamed Salah.
On 1 September 2025, Liverpool announced his transfer from Newcastle United. Isak was handed the number 9 shirt and joined the English champions on a long-term contract. He made his Liverpool debut in the Champions League against Atlético Madrid before scoring his first goal for his new club against Southampton in the League Cup.
A tall and agile striker, Alexander Isak combines speed, technical ability, dribbling skills and precision in front of goal. This POP! Football No. 116 captures him at the start of his Liverpool career, in the Reds’ iconic red kit.
