Origin and background of the character
Stitch (also known as Experiment 626) is the cult alien protagonist of the animated film *Lilo & Stitch*, released in 2002 by Walt Disney Studios. Illegally created by the mad scientist Jumba Jookiba to be an indestructible force of mass destruction, this little blue creature escapes to Earth and lands on the island of Hawaii. Taken in by young Lilo, who initially mistakes him for a stray dog, Stitch gradually learns to channel his destructive instincts thanks to the sacred concept of ‘Ohana’, which means that no one should be left behind or forgotten.
