This premium-quality official soft toy brings a touch of warmth and magic straight from the enchanting world of Studio Ghibli. This collectable soft toy pays tribute to the most endearing and flamboyant fire demon in Japanese pop culture.
The design incorporates the unique stylistic features of the Japanese Komorebi collection, renowned for its delicate textures and natural look. This soft toy captures Calcifer’s flame-shaped silhouette with absolute fidelity. Its soft polyester plush texture offers a wonderfully cosy tactile experience, ideal for warming hearts or adding a touch of poetry to any space.
The soft toy faithfully recreates his distinctive physical features with its vibrant orange and red hues, mimicking the shades of a crackling log fire. His large, expressive round eyes and small open mouth give him a look that is both mischievous and sulky, true to his on-screen expressions. It is crafted from silky polyester fibres and features a clever weighting system using polyethylene beads at its base. This ensures perfect stability when seated, preventing it from tipping over when placed on a surface. Designed to adorn a collector’s shelf, brighten up a desk or accompany enthusiasts in their daily lives, this collector’s item comes with its official Ghibli cardboard label.

Origin and character lore
In Hayao Miyazaki’s 2004 feature film, Howl’s Moving Castle, Calcifer is a powerful fire demon bound to the wizard Hauru by a mysterious secret pact. Originally a shooting star that fell from the sky, he was saved by Hauru, to whom he gave his heart in exchange for his magical power. Confined to the hearth of the mobile fortress’s fireplace, Calcifer is literally the engine and heart of the castle, keeping its structure intact and managing the hot water and cooking. Although he often comes across as grumpy and arrogant, and spends his time proclaiming his demonic nature, he actually has a big heart and develops a deep affection for young Sophie. This Komorebi version brilliantly celebrates all the sparkle, charm and magic of this incandescent creature, an indispensable part of Miyazaki’s cinema.
