Banpresto / Bandai Spirits is releasing a new edition of Sleeping Kirby as part of the Amicot Petit collection, a range of small figurines designed to look like crocheted characters. Measuring approximately 4 cm, this version depicts Kirby fast asleep, lying on his stomach with his eyes closed and a peaceful expression.
As with the other Amicot Petit models, the fabric-like appearance is fully captured by the sculpting: Kirby’s pink surface features a texture imitating crochet or knitted stitches, even though it is a rigid figurine. The previously released version of Sleeping Kirby is described as a non-articulated PVC figurine measuring approximately 4 cm.

Kirby is the little pink hero from the series of games developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. Originally from the planet Pop Star, he regularly protects Dream Land and its inhabitants from various threats. Despite his small size, Nintendo presents him as a particularly powerful adventurer capable of absorbing his opponents.
His most famous ability is his suction power. Kirby can swallow certain enemies and then copy their special abilities, thereby gaining many different powers throughout his adventures. This ‘Copy Abilities’ mechanic has been one of the series’ fundamental elements since its earliest instalments.
The Sleeping Kirby version does not represent a specific transformation: it simply depicts the character at rest, with his round shape and peaceful expression. The Amicot Petit range emphasises this gentle aspect by giving its surface the appearance of a small crocheted amigurumi, whilst retaining a rigid structure designed for display.
