Description

See Daniel LaRusso in an iconic scene from *The Karate Kid* with this Funko POP! Movies No. 2081 – Daniel Painting figurine. This version directly references the unconventional training imposed by Mr Miyagi, during which Daniel must carry out various household chores before realising that they actually form the basis of his karate training.

The figurine depicts Daniel in a pose linked to this iconic sequence, with a stylised design true to the Funko aesthetic. This scene perfectly symbolises Mr Miyagi’s teaching method, based on repetition, patience and the indirect learning of defensive moves.

Presented in an illustrated window box, this POP! is an ideal collectable for fans of *The Karate Kid*, Daniel LaRusso or the great cult scenes from 1980s cinema.

Character background and lore

Daniel LaRusso is the protagonist of *The Karate Kid*, released in 1984. After moving to California with his mother, he becomes the target of several pupils at the Cobra Kai dojo, notably Johnny Lawrence.

Daniel then meets Mr Miyagi, a quiet man who agrees to teach him karate. However, his training gets off to a surprising start: instead of traditional fighting techniques, Miyagi asks him to carry out various tasks such as polishing cars, sanding a floor or painting.

These repetitive movements later turn out to be genuine defensive manoeuvres. Daniel gradually realises that each task has enabled him to develop karate reflexes without even realising it.

The ‘Daniel Painting’ scene perfectly illustrates this learning method, which has become iconic in the history of cinema. It represents one of the moments when Daniel makes progress towards the mastery he needs to face the Cobra Kai students at the All Valley tournament.
