Based on K-ON!, this Banpresto figurine depicts Yui Hirasawa, guitarist and singer of the band Ho-kago Tea Time, as part of the SQ Figure collection. Standing approximately 25 cm tall, it depicts the heroine in a dynamic and cheerful pose, true to her enthusiastic nature in the series.
Yui is shown here wearing her summer school uniform, consisting of a white short-sleeved shirt, a light-coloured sleeveless waistcoat, a blue ribbon and a pleated skirt. Her guitar case is strapped to her back, immediately evoking her role in the light music club. One raised arm and a bent leg emphasise the sculpture’s sense of movement, whilst her smile and her two distinctive yellow hair clips complete the character’s portrayal.
Yui Hirasawa is one of the main heroines of K-ON!. Upon starting secondary school, she joins the light music club despite having no prior experience of playing an instrument, having initially even misunderstood what the term ‘light music’ meant. She then began learning the guitar alongside Ritsu Tainaka, Mio Akiyama and Tsumugi Kotobuki.
Alongside her classmates, and later with the arrival of Azusa Nakano, Yui becomes the guitarist and one of the singers in the band Ho-kago Tea Time. The series follows their daily lives at secondary school, their rehearsals, their concerts and the many moments they spend together in their club room. Behind her carefree and sometimes absent-minded nature, Yui gradually develops her musical abilities and forms a particularly strong bond with the other members of the band.
