Character background and universe (Lore)

Joseph Joestar is the protagonist of the second part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Battle Tendency, which is set mainly in 1938 and 1939. As the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, the hero of Phantom Blood, Joseph inherits the ability to use the Wave, or Hamon, an energy technique based on a specific breathing method.

Unlike his grandfather, Joseph is characterised by a far more unpredictable temperament. He often prefers cunning, improvisation and traps to direct confrontation, going so far as to anticipate his opponents’ reactions and words. This fighting style proves essential when he must face the Pillar Men, powerful ancient beings linked to the origins of the Stone Mask.

Throughout *Battle Tendency*, Joseph deepens his mastery of the Hamon and faces off against Wamuu, Esidisi and Kars, amongst others. His blend of humour, daring and strategy makes him one of the most unconventional JoJos in the saga. The Mometria figurine captures this personality through an energetic and confident pose, designed to evoke Joseph in the thick of the action rather than in a static position.
