Character background and lore
Released in cinemas in 2024 by Pixar Studios,Inside Out 2 is the sequel to the first film, which was acclaimed by critics worldwide. The story returns to the headquarters of Riley’s mind, as she navigates the tumultuous phase of adolescence. As her emotional world undergoes a major restructuring, the original team – consisting of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust – must suddenly make way for a whole new set of particularly overwhelming emotions.
Anxiety immediately establishes herself as the leader of this new group of teenage emotions. Representing a constant anticipation of worst-case scenarios, she takes control of the control centre with the intention of protecting Riley’s future, even if it means descending into total panic and neutralising the old emotions. Visually unique with her orange skin, her wide, wide eyes full of worry and her tousled hair like nervous flames, this figurine perfectly captures the electric temperament, the overflowing wealth of ideas and the intensity of this memorable character from the Pixar sequel.
