Origin and background of the character
Cinnamoroll is one of the most popular characters in the Sanrio galaxy, created by designer Miyuki Okumura in 2001. This little white male puppy with expressive blue eyes is instantly recognisable by his long, floppy ears, which allow him to fly through the air, as well as by his spiral tail, reminiscent of a cinnamon roll – which is how he got his name. Born in the clouds, he was adopted by the owner of Café Cinnamon, where he now lives and spends his days warmly interacting with customers alongside his loyal friends Chiffon, Mocha, Espresso, Cappuccino and Milk. Depicted here in a wistful and endearing pose in the ‘Missing You’ edition, this iconic figure of kawaii pop culture perfectly embodies kindness, innocence and comfort.
