Character background and universe

Gregory Goyle is a pure-blood wizard who attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he is a member of Slytherin House. Constantly accompanied by Vincent Crabbe, he teams up with Draco Malfoy from his first year onwards, with the pair repeatedly acting as bodyguards for the latter. On their first journey aboard the Hogwarts Express, Goyle and his cronies confront Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in an attempt to steal their supplies, an incident marked by Crusty the Crab biting Goyle’s finger as he tried to grab a Chocolate Frog. Coming from a family of Death Eaters, he naturally sided with Lord Voldemort’s forces during the Second Wizarding War.
