HARRY POTTER - Love Potion - Light

This officially licensed Harry Potter Paladone decorative lamp is inspired by the famous love potions from the Wizarding World. Its design takes the form of a heart-shaped bottle filled with a sparkling pink liquid, resting on a matching base and decorated with the inscription ‘Love Potion’.

The bottle is finished with a dark pink stopper and a decorative pompom, which enhance its appearance as a magic potion. When switched on, the lamp casts a pink glow through the bottle, highlighting the various heart-shaped motifs inside.

Origin and lore of the potion

Love potions hold a special place in the Harry Potter universe. They do not create genuine romantic feelings, but instead induce a powerful attraction or obsession towards the person who administers them.

Amortentia is considered the most powerful love potion in the wizarding world. It is recognisable by its pearly sheen and the wisps of vapour that rise from it. Its scent varies depending on the person who breathes it in, taking on the scent of whatever particularly attracts them.

In *Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince*, Horace Slughorn introduces Amortentia to his pupils during a Potions lesson. The series also highlights the dangers of this type of potion when Ron Weasley accidentally eats chocolates containing a love potion intended for Harry.
