Origin and background of the symbol (Lore)
Hogwarts, or the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is the school of magic where Harry Potter truly discovers the wizarding world. Housed in a vast castle in the Scottish Highlands, the school welcomes young witches and wizards to teach them, amongst other things, spells, potions, transfiguration and defence against the dark arts.
On arrival, pupils are sorted by the Sorting Hat into one of four houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Each has its own history, colours and emblem, but all four are united in the overall Hogwarts coat of arms.
The coat of arms printed on this hoodie captures precisely this collective identity.
