Character background and lore

Draco Malfoy is a Slytherin student at Hogwarts and one of Harry Potter’s main rivals during their school years. Born into an ancient wizarding family, he is raised in an environment deeply rooted in the importance of blood status and social standing.

Arrogant and provocative in his early years, Draco gradually evolves as the story unfolds, as his family’s ambitions and Voldemort’s rise to power begin to weigh directly upon him. His journey then reveals a more complex character, torn between the expectations of those around him, fear and his own choices.

In the Harry Potter universe, his wand is made of hawthorn wood. This new HBO version offers a visual interpretation specific to the television adaptation, whilst retaining this fundamental characteristic of the character.
