Origin and background of the character
Alastor Moody, known as Mad-Eye, is a pure-blood wizard and a former member of the elite Aurors within the Ministry of Magic. Recognised as one of the most effective Dark Wizard hunters of his time, he is responsible for the capture of many of Voldemort’s followers who are now imprisoned in Azkaban. An influential member of the Order of the Phoenix, he is distinguished by his keen sense of vigilance and his battle scars, notably his magical blue eye. His wand accompanied him in his duties as an Auror and during clandestine clashes with the Death Eaters right up to the Second Wizarding War.
