GUNDAM - MG 1/100 RE-ZEL Commander type - Model Kit

GUNDAM UNICORN – RGZ-95C ReZEL Commander Type – MG 1/100 Scale Model Kit

Discover the RGZ-95C ReZEL Commander Type from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn with this 1/100 scale Master Grade (MG) model kit from Bandai Spirits. A high-performance variant of the standard ReZEL, this commander’s version is distinguished by its imposing Wing Unit, its translucent green sensors and, above all, its powerful Mega Beam Launcher mounted on an articulated arm.

Like the Mobile Suit in the series, the kit features a genuine transformation mechanism into Waverider mode. The articulated internal structure unique to the Master Grade range allows for a wide range of poses in Mobile Suit mode, whilst the wings and the Mega Beam Launcher give the transformed mode a significantly more imposing silhouette than that of the standard ReZEL. The parts are moulded in their respective colours and use the snap-fit assembly system, requiring no glue for standard assembly.

The accessories include the Mega Beam Launcher, two Beam Sabres and the ReZEL’s distinctive shield. A small 1/100-scale figure of the pilot, Norm Basilicock, is also included, along with decals to refine the model’s finish. This combination of transformation, internal structure and extensive armament makes it a kit that is particularly representative of the level of detail found in the Master Grade range.

Origin and universe (Lore)

The ReZEL, an acronym for Refined Zeta Gundam Escort Leader, is a transformable Mobile Suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation Forces. It represents a new attempt to mass-produce a unit that incorporates technologies inherited from the Zeta Gundam, whilst simplifying the transformation mechanism to make it more suitable for large-scale military use. Several components and systems are also shared with the Jegan, in order to facilitate maintenance and reduce costs.

The RGZ-95C ReZEL Commander Type is a variant intended for commanders, veterans and experienced pilots. Compared to the standard model, its thrust limitations have been removed and its structure reinforced to deliver superior performance. It is also fitted with a specialised backpack and can deploy the powerful Mega Beam Launcher, which is particularly suited to long-range support.

In Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, several ReZELs serve within Londo Bell, notably aboard the Nahel Argama. One Commander Type is piloted by Norm Basilicock and takes part in battles against the Sleeves’ forces and Full Frontal’s Sinanju. This MG version accurately reproduces this high-performance variant, whilst allowing the model to switch from Mobile Suit mode to its Waverider configuration.
