Origin and character’s world
In the fantasy world of the saga, magical tradition dictates that to hatch a petrified dragon’s egg, it is necessary to kindle flames of extreme intensity and to combine this with the sacrifice of a living being, sealing the ancestral ritual of a life for a life. This immutable rule directly echoes the famous official motto of House Targaryen: ‘Fire and Blood’. Presented to Daenerys Targaryen on her wedding day to Khal Drogo, this egg, with its green and bronze hues, will give birth to Rhaegal, named in memory of Rhaegar Targaryen, the Queen’s late elder brother.
