Origin and backstory of the character
Written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, Frieren is a masterpiece of poetic fantasy, acclaimed worldwide for its melancholic narrative centred on the aftermath of the adventure. The plot begins where traditional stories end: after the defeat of the Demon King by the hero Himmel’s party. Frieren is an elf mage with near-infinite longevity, for whom a ten-year journey is but a fleeting moment. Following the death of her former comrades from old age, she realises the brevity of human life and regrets not having sought to get to know them better. She then embarks on a new journey in the footsteps of her past, collecting unusual minor spells and passing on her knowledge to her young apprentice, Fern. This Funko Pop! figurine perfectly captures her detached yet profoundly wise gaze, making it an essential centrepiece for all fans of this memorable work.
