Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Professor Emeritus and member of the prestigious Mourn Watch at the Great Necropolis of Nevarra, Emmrich Volkarin is a scholar who devotes his life to the benevolent study of the occult and spirits. Far from the frightening clichés of black magicians, this courteous necromancer treats the dead with the utmost respect. Accompanied by his faithful and mischievous skeleton assistant Manfred, he puts his mastery of the energies of death and the Veil to good use for the Veil Guard led by Rook. His spells, which can manipulate the destiny of lost souls, are proving indispensable in the face of the threat of global destruction unleashed by the liberation of the corrupted ancient elven deities.
