Origin and backstory of the character
Deadpool (real name Wade Wilson) is a quirky character from the Marvel Comics universe, created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Rob Liefeld in 1991. A former mercenary subjected to a clandestine military experiment aimed at injecting him with Wolverine’s self-healing factor, he emerged disfigured but virtually immortal. Nicknamed‘The Merc with a Mouth’, Deadpool stands out for his mental instability, his crude humour and his unique ability to break the fourth wall by addressing the reader or viewer directly. This ‘Lazy’ edition captures the character’s irreverent spirit; between bloody massacres and high-risk rescue missions, he loves lazing about in casual clothes, eating chimichangas and poking fun at the traditional conventions of serious superheroes.
