Character background and lore
Inspired by the work and expanded universe of Dandadan, Kinta Sakata is a marginalised secondary school pupil with a deep passion for mechas who has spent much of his school life pursuing a single goal: to imagine himself as a science-fiction hero and find his place in a world from which he escapes through his technological fantasies. Convinced that he is the misunderstood protagonist of an epic tale, his life is irrevocably turned upside down when he accidentally finds himself caught up in the paranormal conflicts pitting his classmates Momo Ayase and Okarun against extraterrestrial forces. Faced with the threat of the Serpoians, Kinta’s misunderstood genius is revealed through his ability to visualise and improvise the control of giant nanotechnological structures transformed into combat robots. This extraordinary determination transforms this once-isolated teenager into an indispensable ally, putting his exceptional mechanical creativity to work to ensure his group’s survival in the face of occult invasions.
