Origin and world of the character (Lore)
In the dystopian world of the animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners produced by the Trigger studio and CD Projekt Red, David Martinez is a brilliant teenager from Santo Domingo whose life is turned upside down after a family tragedy. Forced to survive on his own, he is implanted with an extremely rare, cutting-edge military cybernetic technology called Sandevistan, which gives him superhuman speed of reaction and movement. Joining a group of outlaw mercenaries (the Edgerunners), he quickly climbed the ranks of Night City's organised crime. His career was marked by intensive body modification and a constant struggle to protect his companions from the destructive grip of the megacorporations.
