Origin and character’s universe
In the world of the animated television series Beetlejuice (based on Tim Burton’s feature film), Lydia Deetz is a human teenager with a passion for the macabre, photography and the occult. Unlike in the original film, here she shares a close friendship with the eccentric ghost Beetlejuice, whom she regularly joins in the ‘Neitherworld’ (the Afterlife) by saying his name three times. Intelligent and level-headed, she often acts as the voice of reason in the face of her spectral companion’s eccentricities and pranks, whilst juggling her mortal daily life with her fantastical explorations.
This Funko Pop! figure recreates the clothing and physical features of this specific animated version. Lydia Deetz is depicted sporting her characteristic black hairstyle, consisting of spiky fringe across her forehead and two long plaits tied at the sides. The figure is dressed in her red poncho, adorned with black geometric patterns at the hem, worn over a black long-sleeved top, complemented by dark leggings and flat shoes. The figurine strikes a steady pose, capturing the aesthetic style of the late 1980s animated series.
